Somer was born and raised in the Southern Humboldt community. She graduated from South Fork High School in Miranda and then attended Santa Rosa Junior College, where she earned a degree in counseling and psychology. Previously, Somer owned and operated a small wedding planning business. She later obtained her real estate license and began working for her father, Brian Elie, who was the former broker/owner at Madrone Realty. Somer quickly developed a passion for the real estate industry. In 2021, she purchased the business from her father and is dedicated to maintaining the same level of commitment to her clients and community. In her spare time, Somer enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and exploring the beauty of her community. Somer and her family actively participate in various community events, including the Avenue of the Giants Marathon, Summer Arts Festival, and holiday celebrations.
Somer is a member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors and Humboldt Association of Realtors. In 2018, she became the Southern Humboldt Representative for the Humboldt Association of Realtors, serving on the Board. She also volunteers with the association’s Government Relations committee, MLS committee and Professional Standards committee. Recently, she initiated a monthly meeting for all realtors in Southern Humboldt to discuss new ideas, foster friendships, and build a sense of community among local realtors.
She looks forward to embracing new challenges in the real estate market and assisting people in finding their dream homes in Humboldt County.
