Somer was born and raised in the Southern Humboldt community. She graduated from South Fork High School in Miranda and went to college at Santa Rosa Junior College, where she earned a degree in counseling and psychology.
Somer is active in the local community here in Southern Humboldt. She and her business partner, Leslie Goff started Tumblestars Gymnastics in 2011—a program for local children in the community to attend recreational gymnastics classes. She also joined Eel River Valley Youth Soccer League and coaches soccer and futsal. Somer is active in the local Rotary club assisting in many local projects about town.
In her free time Somer enjoys spending time with her two children, Owen and Tanner, as well as traveling, cooking and adventuring in our beautiful community. Somer and her children are active participants in various community events such as the Avenue of the Giants Marathon, Summer Arts Festival and holiday festivities.
Somer is a member of the Humboldt Board of Realtors, Association of Realtors and National Board of Realtors. In 2018 Somer became the Southern Humboldt Representative for the Humboldt Association of Realtors. She recently started a monthly meeting for all the realtors in Southern Humboldt to discuss new ideas, foster better friendships and create a sense of community amongst her local realtors.
She is looking forward to new challenges in the real estate market and helping people find their dream home in Humboldt County.
